- 4 apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), cored
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons raisins (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1/2 cup water or apple juice
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place cored apples in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine chopped walnuts, raisins (if using), ground cinnamon, and maple syrup or honey (if using).
- Spoon walnut mixture evenly into the center of each apple.
- Pour water or apple juice into the baking dish around the apples.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes until apples are tender.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a sprinkle of additional cinnamon.
