- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and sugar.
- Heat the milk in a saucepan until hot but not boiling. Whisk in the cocoa mixture until smooth.
- Stir in the chopped chocolate until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cream, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Chill the mixture for at least 2 hours.
- Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Transfer to a container and freeze until firm.
